My name is Kathi Clarke and my brother is Ron McKune. We are the Team Leaders for Rally NW. We lost our niece, Kelsie, age 14, to Burkitts Lymphoma on November 23, 2007. This loss devastated our family and we will forever feel the loss of Kelsie.
We then decided to take action, and united with Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research to form Rally NW. Read more here: How Rally NW got started.
Our Rally NW Team Coaches are Jason and Anna Ruiz. They have been involved with charity running events for four years as participants, mentors, captains and coaches. Combined they have run over 24 races. They have been certified by notable Olympians Tom Dooley and Jack Daniels, and are certified in both walking and running. They have helped over 300 athletes go from the couch to the finish line. They have enjoyed watching others find their inner endurance athlete while running for a greater purpose and hope to help train and cheer many others across the finish line.
What are Rally Kids? Below are links to stories of courageous children who have fought or are fighting cancer. At Rally, we believe that the battle to find a cure for this disease begins with stories just like these. These kids stories are what inspire us and what drive us. We believe in rallying with kids in our efforts. Thus, every endeavor by Rally is dedicated to an individual child or children fighting cancer because together we are stronger. Please feel free to Rally with any of these kids or any child battling cancer....or to nominate a child to be a Rally Kid, go here.
